With that said, we have been foaming at the mouth (call us, rabid for fur) over these Celine fur accessories for Spring-Summer 2013.  They are women's.  Which presents some problems:  too narrow and never a size in the double digits to fit our flat-footed feet.  TRUST or we would buy them.  Not really!!  They're made with fur.  Since we are veggie and animal-friendly, that goes against everything we believe in.  So......

And besides,  Celine does not have a men's line nor can we wait for another retailer to offer it to the male consumer.  (Everything you see in Womenswear usually takes 6 months to a year to wash over to the men's side.  Same colors, silhouettes, ideas).

Well, we ain't waiting a year.

Thus, we have dusted off our old Abercrombie & Fitch (Mountain Pond) footwear from 2004. AND, they are made with faux-fur, which fits our animal/veggie-friendly ethics anyway!!!

We will be featuring our footwear with everything that Celine has offered in the S/S 2013 campaign.  A/F faux-fur sandal with: a). black "leather" trousers b). black silk-satin pants  c). natural linen canvas trousers d). white charmeuse trousers

Side note:  Most of these easy, breezy  aforementioned trousers (some with drawstrings) can be found on the cheap at stores like H&M, Club Monaco, TopShop.

In addition, we will feature the shoes with denim, and,  with our bermuda/walking shorts.

Who knew Abercrombie was so far ahhhhhhhhhead with this trend.... a SOLID 9 years ahead!!!!  Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

TIp:  For those of you that NOW want a pair of these A/F faux-fur "Mountain Pond" flip flops-- from 2004-- so you too can follow our lead and this trend, may we recommend a secondary market for acquiring said shoes, like Ebay!!

PASSINGS: VIDAL SASSOON

Iconic hair dresser Vidal Sassoon perished in Bel-Air, California.

Mr. Sassoon was 84.

Mr. Sassoon revolutionized the sixties and was a zeitgeist with his signature bob and 5-point haircut.

In 1954, he opened his first salon in London. "I gave myself five years. If I couldn't change anything, I was out of there."

"When I first came into hair, women were coming in and you'd place a hat on their hair and you'd dress their hair around it," Sassoon said. "We learned to put discipline in the haircuts by using actual geometry, actual architectural shapes and bone structure. The cut had to be perfect and layered beautifully, so that when a woman shook it, it just fell back in."

He eventually opened a New York salon. In 1973, his hair-care products debuted to the trade. A couple of years later, he moved to Los Angeles, and by 1980, he even briefly had his own American television talk show. It was quite a life for a poor boy from London's East End.

We JUST watched the documentary, Vidal Sassoon The Movie , last week about Mr. Sassoon. We highly recommend seeing it.

And by the way, that is fashion icon Ms. Grace Coddington in the above image. Mr. Sassoon trimmed the VOGUE Creative Director with one of his iconic cuts in the 1960s.
