ENERGIE FOUNDER PERISHES, 56

Miss Sixty/Energie/Killah founder Wicky Hassan has perished at the age of 56.

Born in Tripoli, Hassan arrived to the open arms of Rome with his family in the late 1960s. Thousands of Libyan Jews were forced out of the country during the Six Day War, Hassan and family were among those who fled.

Hassan was from a family of drapers.

Edited for clarity:

[Hassan started] selling clothes at flea markets, Romans, and finally managed to open the first store. We owe the first imports of which have become cult brands like Timberland, Levi's and All Star to him. His insights are revealed and success grows right up to the opening of a store in the prestigious Via del Corso.

His first line of clothing, Energie, and in 1988, following 3 years after Miss Sixty: the first born and will be low-waisted trousers suffered a resounding success.

Sixty soon became a group that added over the years Killah and Murphy & Nye Refrigewear.

FALLING IN LOVE

Michael Bastian for Gant, above

Rag & Bone, above

Vintage Polo University Club by Ralph Lauren, above

For Fall 2011, we have been falling in love with blazers. We don't know what caused it; it was a natural gravitation to something so utilitarian, so business-like.

Blazer moments for everyday. Day to evening dressing. Simple. Not having to "think" about what to wear.

We are really digging the blazers from Michael Bastian for Gant. And, we love how those two blazers are styled.

And, don't put it past us, we would totally wear the blazer Rag & Bone did for their women's Fall 2011 collection. With a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt underneath--PERFECT!!

We ordered a vintage Polo University Club blazer from Ebay. Perfect for a day of blogging or business meetings then to dinner and a movie.

In a later post, we'll show you what to team up with the vintage Polo University blazer to make it very "now," very "today."

Go and find your perfect blazer for Fall 2011.
