Despite our acidic posts on VOGUE covers--- and we hate mostly all the celebrity ones--- we LOVE Anna Wintour and VOGUE. Plus, she made our Top 10 moms we would love to have list, yesterday.
We've been reading VOGUE since 1978 so we are no Johnny- come -lately.... We remember when Grace Mirabella was the EIC back then. We've prolly been subscribing since 1980.
We remember in the late 80s the news of Anna as the new EIC. We were sad to see Mirabella leave but with news of her starting her own magazine left us quickly relieved. Thus, we optimistically waited for Anna to take over the reigns. We cherish that first issue--the cross studded Christian Lacroix black t-shirt on the cover.
Then in the late 90s, she introduced The Index section-- even with a bonus copy as a supplement for one of the winter issues--- a part of the magazine we turn to religiously every month.
And the editorial stories styled by Grace Coddington. What more could you ask for? A visual and intoxicating gift each month....
Let's not forget, Anna has always been a champion for new designers, young or old--she's never cared as long as they have talent. Her endless support for Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Erin Fetherston, Rodarte.... to name a few.

We received a download of The September Issue and have been playing it 24/7 for the past couple of weeks.
The movie is sooo inspiring and Grace Coddington is our favorite fashion deity. We wish there was a docu on each issue. We would sit 2 hours for that!! It would be like going to Conde Nast journalism school. A course every month. (We are degreed journalism/film majors).
To leave you with some inspiration of Anna and all she does for VOGUE, here is a profile piece from Fashion Television:
