WHEW, RELIEF!!

We have it on good authority that Halle Berry will grace VOGUE's The September Issue.

Those cold shivers can be put to rest after news that Putrid Foultroll would cover the biggest fashion issue of the year.

However,  the goopy cunt will be on this August's cover.

AnnER, we can't wait to see those newsstand figures on August's issue.  Guaranteed,  sales will plummet.

FILL IN THE BLANKS

Mark Holgate will fill the huge void left by Sally Singer's departure from VOGUE.

He elevates his place at the magazine's hierarchy and his title to Features Director.

Congrats on the promotion, MH!!

FIT TO A T

In The September Issue, besides Grace Coddington being the breakout star, we felt Sally Singer stood out and shined.

She showed compassion when interviewed and had a real sense of calmness and clarity about her.

NOW!!

Chatter is.... Singer has resigned from her VOGUE position (Fashion News/Features Director) to helm the EIC position for The New York Times style magazine T.

This could up the ante at T magazine. Excellent fashion stories await.......

And a perfect opportunity for Andre Leon Talley to zoom from Contributing Editor to Features Director.

NO!

PUTRID FOULTROLL:

We're hearing chatter that this gross goopy cunt is going to be on another VOGUE cover and it is for The September Issue.

Wasn't that May 2008 cover the lowest in newsstand sales??

Why does AnnER insist on giving covers to this retched snatch?

No one wants to read or embody this!!  Aren't covers suppose to inspire?

And not inspire NAUSEA!!!!

Once again AnnER, let's go over a great cover list:

Raquel Zimmerman

Daria Werbowy

If it must be a celebrity:

Morena Baccarin

Edie Falco

Sigourney Weaver

VINTAGE: BJORN BORG

What is not to love about Bjorn Borg? His signature mop of blond hair; the twinkle in his eyes---we love zee blondes especially Swedish!!

And, his tennis game was impeccable. He perfectly mastered the mechanics of the sport, his laser-like precision.  His absolute shot placement--sublime.  He was at the top of his game in the '70s and '80s.

Wimbledon, back in that era, was always a delight for us. We looked forward to his appearance and to what he wore:   The Fila uniforms for match games.

He had the best shirts and jackets.  Just mouthwatering!! We were soooo envious. We coveted EVERY piece.

Today, in the new millennium, all we can say is thank heaven for Ebay! We supplemented our meager Fila wardrobe from the 1980s with iconic pieces that we've always wanted!! Now, it is a collection that any Fila enthusiast would envy!!  And, a collection that might make Borg whisper:  I have that...and that...and that, too!

THE ORIGINAL BLOND AMBITION:

BORG'S KEY LOOKS:

The vertical striped Fila shirt with his custom monogrammed Fila logos.

Borg's iconic apres match red jacket. The jacket that made many a front page on newspapers globally after he collected his trophy titles:

John McEnroe was generously outfitted by Sergio Tacchini for most of his career:

A side note: If you also covet some of these pieces, may we recommend Ebay and also try Wasteland on Melrose. Sometimes they receive some excellent vintage Fila pieces. But when?--that is the question!! You have to physically visit the store on a frequent basis to cull through the racks of clothes. Their stock varies daily.

We've also found great Fila pieces at Out Of The Closet (proceeds go to AIDS Healthcare)--- our #1 favorite location is Santa Monica/Crescent Heights. Stock varies at all the stores daily. You may not see Fila pieces for a whole year then one day some really cool pieces may appear. That's the beauty of vintage/thrift stores--you never know!!

ANNA'S AUDIENCE

Despite our acidic posts on VOGUE covers--- and we hate mostly all the celebrity ones--- we LOVE Anna Wintour and VOGUE.  Plus, she made our Top 10 moms we would love to have list, yesterday.

We've been reading VOGUE since 1978 so we are no Johnny- come -lately....  We remember when Grace Mirabella was the EIC back then.  We've prolly been subscribing since 1980.

We remember in the late 80s the news of Anna as the new EIC.  We were sad to see Mirabella leave but with news of her starting her own magazine left us quickly relieved.  Thus, we optimistically waited for Anna to take over the reigns.  We cherish that first issue--the cross studded Christian Lacroix black t-shirt on the cover.

Then in the late 90s, she introduced The Index section-- even with a bonus copy as a supplement for one of the winter issues--- a part of the magazine we turn to religiously every month.

And the editorial stories styled by Grace Coddington.  What more could you ask for?  A visual and intoxicating gift each month....

Let's not forget, Anna has always been a champion for new designers, young or old--she's never cared as long as they have talent.  Her endless support for Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Erin Fetherston, Rodarte.... to name a few.

*****************

We received a download of The September Issue and have been playing it 24/7 for the past couple of weeks.

The movie is sooo inspiring and Grace Coddington is our favorite fashion deity.  We wish there was a docu on each issue.  We would sit 2 hours for that!!  It would be like going to Conde Nast journalism school.  A course every month.  (We are degreed journalism/film  majors).

To leave you with some inspiration of Anna and all she does for VOGUE, here is a profile piece from Fashion Television:

We love trucker hats.  We can't get enough of them.  A staple go-to item for us.

We have a ton from Chip & Pepper.

They are so hot on a guy.  You can see them on beautiful rocker bois up and down Melrose all day long.

Perfect for a day at the beach. Perfect for a night of drinks at Fiesta Cantina.
