YOU ALREADY KNOW WE LOVE UNKLE KARL...
WWD reports:
KARL CHRONICLES: Karl Lagerfeld's French fans will be treated to another documentary about the designer, to be screened by France 5 in October. The 52-minute-long work, directed by Thierry Demaizière and Alban Teurlai, is one of a series of profiles by the TV channel on personalities in France, dubbed "Empreintes," or "Impressions." Featuring in-depth interviews with Lagerfeld, as well as footage of the designer in action, the film explores his life story, starting with his childhood in Germany. Sharing memories of his mother, Lagerfeld recounts: "When I asked her to tell me stories, she would say, 'Learn to read.' And when I wanted to tell her one, she would come back with: 'You may be four years old, but I am not.'" Personalities already profiled by France 5 include Brigitte Bardot and the soccer star Michel Platini.
