WHAT THE ELLE

Elle magazine is gleefully seeing a robust side of the economy.

Elle's September 2008 issue is up by 6.6% from last year to 420 pages.

And, Elle's August issue beat Vogue in ad pages for the fourth month in a row.

Vogue September 2008 will feature 50 less ad pages than September Vogue 2007.

Usually the September issue is the bread and butter of ad revenue for a magazine with March slowly creeping up as the second issue with most ad pages.

Could Elle's pages be up due to the tie in with Project Runway??

Anna Wintour wrote in her monthly editor's letter years ago that she specifically  turned down PR because she wanted to build on the Vogue brand, hence Teen Vogue, MEN'S Vogue, and Vogue Living.  She didn't want the magazine diluted with some television project.

In Anna--say it British, Anner---Wintour speak:   television= middle class= bourgeois.

I am sure she sticks by that decision even to this day.

Could it be all of Vogue's stunt casting on the covers??

I think the public is getting sick of seeing Putrid Foultroll--such a fake, Sluttyienna Muffer, and Dunce Sorrymore on every other cover.

It was refreshing to see a model on the Vogue August cover....can we continue with that!!!!

Clean house with all that talentless Hollywood cunt already!!!

We want Linda, Christy, and Claudia back on Vogue covers--that's what sells covers  which in turn increases ad pages.  Go back to the OLD formula!
